    When the dog bites

I am going to go with the Sound of Music approach to a better attitude.  A listing in brief of some of my favorite things.

    1)      Hitting the snooze button.  Sounds weird, but it makes me feel like I am cheating.  Ha ha alarm clock!  I say when I get up!

    2)      Having the air just chilly enough to warrant a sweatshirt and/or blanket.  Then snuggling under said accoutrement.

    3)      Fall colors.  The leaves across the street from work are changing.  They are vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds, sometimes all in the same leaf.

    4)      Coffee AND tea.  I love my cup of coffee in the morning, and I love my cup of tea in the afternoon, and I love that the weather warrants warm drinks throughout the day.

    5)      Porch swings.  Especially when it rains.

    6)      Rain.

    7)      Sunshine

    8)      Snow

    9)      Precipitation boots.  My dad bought me snow boots for Christmas one year, and then I promptly moved to Florida.  It does not snow in Florida.  So they became my precipitation boots, to be worn whenever the weather was chilly and wet.

    10)   Sebastian, my fish.  He is beautiful, quiet, and easy to please.  He makes the office better.

    11)   Though it should really be number one and not number eleven, here it is – family.  My family.  The random, predictable, overwhelming, comforting, dynamic of my family.

    12)   Falling asleep to a movie in the loft.

So that’s the brief version.  There is more.  But I have cheered myself enough to make it through the day.  Friday.

Oh!  By the way!  Did I tell you I am an actor again?  Briefly.    I will be several characters in a local play adaptation of Jane Eyre.  Whoop Whoop.  December 3rd we open.
